This was the very last super awesome fundraiser event that Run Donna Run did for the Royal Children’s Hospital. We helped the kids who have diabetes!
This exciting event challenge was for EVERYONE. Many people have kindly said to me “Donna you inspire me.” Which is awesome to know. Now this event was the chance for others to also be an inspiration to their friends, family, work mates, school pals, the RDR community and Donna! 🙂
‘Run Your Own Race with RDR’ was a challenge EVERYONE CAN participate in, no matter where you live!
Kids and Adults participated!
You could walk, run, push a pram, cycle and even wheelchair it!
The distances to choose from were 1.5km, 3km, 5km, 10km, 15km, Half Marathon 21.1km, Marathon 42.2km, and Ultra-Marathon.
We decided to keep the dates of the virtual race open for participants to choose to run their own race in the months of December 2015 to February 2016.
The main event was in Melbourne at Rosebud Aus Day Fun Run, 26 January, 2016 – where Donna was also running
BUT for those who weren’t able to make it there, they could still do it anywhere you like before Feb. 29, 2016.
We had many who raced at Rosebud with Donna, but others who also raced from Queensland, NSW and Victoria! The ran, walked and even a team cycled together in Mildura, Victoria! 🙂
Here are a few pics of our awesome participants!
We had awesome Run Your Own Race with RDR caps too! That helped raise funds for RCH kids!
We also had awesome personalised race bibs, with proceeds also going to the kids!
Here’s where the funds went:
We’re supporting the Endocrinology & Diabetes Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital – Obesity and weight management is an important service that Run Your Own Race with RDR funds will improve lifestyle changes for kids with diabetes in Australia.
